Meet the Liberty Universal Management Team
Jack Liberty – Mr. Liberty is President and founder of Liberty Universal Management, the largest Retail Commercial Real Estate Brokerage firm in the Central Florida region. Mr. Liberty has developed a team at Liberty Universal Management that is based on industry experience, market intelligence, strategic thinking and relationships. Mr. Liberty brings over 30 years experience in the real estate business and is personally responsible for the lease transactions of over 5 million square feet. These transactions are valued at over $1 billion in rental income, creating over $10 billion in retail center values. Mr. Liberty’s past experience included leasing and managing national retail chains such as Walmart and Kmart. He has also served as a development and strategic partner for major national brands such as: BJ’s Wholesale Club, Home Depot, Kash–N-Karry, Lowe’s Publix and Winn Dixie. Mr. Liberty is well versed in the receivership process and has worked with banks, savings & loans, and life insurance companies in the lease up, rehabilitation and sale of retail properties. Mr. Liberty’s experience includes development and site selection for over 130 Movie Gallery locations, totaling over 650,000 square feet valued at over $975 million dollars. Mr. Liberty is an active member and participant in local, regional and national industry associations and serves on the Executive Council for the Retail Brokers Network (RBN), a 60+ offices nationwide network of retail brokers who work together on a regional and national level in tenant representation, investments sales and project leasing. Mr. Liberty is also an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
Janet Galvin, SCLS - Partner, Brokerage & Leasing Services. Ms. Galvin has been a Licensed Real Estate Broker since 1984 specializing in the retail sector. Ms. Galvin focuses on tenant representation and assists with site selection, disposition and market positioning for local, regional and national tenants. Ms. Galvin works closely with the retailer’s real estate department to create and implement a strategic plan for store development. With strong market knowledge, an extensive contact base, long term relationships and unparalleled experience, Ms. Galvin implements this expansion in an aggressive yet fiscally responsible approach with the retailer’s growth objectives and financial goals in the forefront. Current clients include AT & T, Sally Beauty Supply, Firehouse Subs, Pita Pit, Sports Clips, Dots Fashions, Gamestop, South Beach Tanning, and a host of others. Ms. Galvin also has significant experience in negotiating anchor deals, land sales, ground leases and small shop leases as a Landlord representative. In the past, Ms. Galvin has represented institutional owners such as Legg Mason, AMB, Nationwide Life, Mass Mutual, and others, as well as private investors. Ms. Galvin is well versed in the receivership process and has worked with banks, savings & loans, and life insurance companies in the lease up, rehabilitation, and sale of retail properties. Ms Galvin has been a past recipient of the Orlando Board of Realtors Circle of Achievement Award and numerous times has been named CoStar Power Broker recipient, recognizing the top leasing agents in the Central Florida market. Ms. Galvin has earned professional accreditation as a Senior Certified Leasing Specialist (SCLS) and is a CCIM candidate.
Tim Garito - As Senior Broker Associate, Tim’s experience lies in the sales, leasing, site acquisition, tenant/buyer representation, of retail, office and industrial commercial properties. He will be handling leasing, tenant representation, outparcel sales and leasing for Liberty Universal Management. Maintaining his real estate brokerage license in the State of Florida since 2002, Tim is an active member and participant in local, regional and national industry associations, which has and will continue to maintain his continual affiliation with other professionals as well as acquiring the cutting edge knowledge necessary to assist in his clients’ needs. Tim earned the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional designation (LEED AP) in 2008 and is a recognized expert in the discipline of environmental building design. As a LEED AP, he is an invaluable resource to the commercial real estate owner, investor and user. Over the past 10 years Tim has built relationships with local and national tenants including but not limited to: Bealls, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Publix, Winn-Dixie, Ross, T.J. Max, Cato, Rent-A-Center, T-Mobile, Verizon, TCBY, Subway, Radio Shack, LNR, H&R Block, and many others. He has also been involved with out parcel sales and development relating to gas station sites notably Shell and Marathon.
Linda Nickels - Senior Sales Associate, Linda's expertise encompasses a broad range of retail real estate services including leasing of shopping centers and tenant representation. Linda is an established and successful sales associate who has spent 20 years in her real estate career handling retail property of over 2M square feet throughout Florida and the southeast region. Linda also has experience representing owners in both the acquisition and disposition of properties and actively participated in several redevelopments and new developments in the Florida market. Linda specializes in distressed retail portfolios as well as power, community, neighborhood and strip centers with strong relationships throughout the retail community. Her knowledge and professionalism along with strong communication skills are a key asset to our retail services group. Prior to joining our firm, Linda was the Senior Leasing Director for 28 Regional and power centers in 12 states for the DDR Corporation for 14 years. She began her career with Venturvest Realty where she specialized in leasing, management throughout Florida. Linda is an active member of ICSC, Crew Network and Ladies in the Biz.
Paul Thomas – Associate, Commercial Leasing and Development. Mr. Thomas is a Licensed Real Estate broker with 20 years of Commercial Real Estate experience. Mr. Thomas specializes in the buying and selling of vacant land and has worked on numerous retail development projects. Retail tenants that Mr. Thomas has and continues to represent include Arby’s, Quizno’s, Dunkin Donuts, Baskin Robbins, Sav-A-Lot, and Pilot Travel Centers. Development projects include those anchored by Wal-Mart, Home Depot and Publix, with outparcel sales to users such as CVS, 7-11, Exxon/Mobil, Taco Bell, AM South Bank and others. Mr. Thomas’ primary responsibility with Liberty Universal Management to work with Mr. Liberty on site selection, the selling of company owned sites, land development and consulting.
Gerald Cason - Associate, Commercial Leasing & Development. Mr. Cason has been a member of the Liberty Universal Management team for more than nine (9) years. During this time, he has diligently pursued and added other National Retailers such as CCS Financial, Solantic, LLC, and Dollar General to the growing Tenant Representation Agreement List. He has leased or has pending a total of 332,628 sf including tenant representation, which is an increase of more than seventy-five percent (75%) over the prior year. During this same time period, Mr. Cason has sold and contracted to sell vacant land and existing improved properties totaling $20,955,000. Mr. Cason is currently focusing on another company he started and helps Liberty on a part time basis.
Jonathan G. Sieg – Broker Associate (North Florida), Commercial Leasing and Consultancy. Mr. Sieg is a Licensed Real Estate Broker, and has experience in both Landlord and Tenant representation. Jonathan started with Liberty Universal Management as a Retail Leasing Associate in June 2011 after graduating from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Finance and Real Estate. During his time as a Retail Leasing Associate, he provided third-party leasing services for the landlords of numerous retail projects across Central Florida. These projects included both anchored shopping centers, and unanchored strip centers. His strong analytical abilities and communication skills allowed him to complete many transactions for these landlords. Through his networking abilities, diligence, and skill, he also managed to successfully represent a number of tenants in site selection. In August 2012, his role with Liberty Universal Management shifted when he relocated to Gainesville, FL in order to pursue a Juris Doctor (J.D.) and a Masters of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) at the University of Florida. Jonathan is currently our North Florida Broker Associate and Consultant, and has extended our third party leasing services and tenant representation to Gainesville and surrounding areas.
Chris Rotella - Sales Associate, Commercial Leasing. Mr. Rotella has recently joined Liberty Universal Management, Inc. and specializes in project leasing. Chris currently leases a number of retail properties within Orlando and the outlying markets. Chris brings a track record of success in sales and will utilize his extensive background in market research and analysis to effectively target users for his client’s projects. Chris is a recent graduate of the University Of Central Florida with a major in Real estate. Chris was Chairman of the Real Estate Club while at UCF and is continues to be an active alumni. Mr. Rotella is active with the Boys and Girls Clubs of America and a number of other charities.
Ann Freeland - Director of Property Manager, Ms. Freeland has more than sixteen (16) years of experience with Winn Dixie Stores. Her position was as Area Property Manager, overseeing more than two hundred (200) stores. She facilitated all improvements and repairs while efficiently remaining well within her fiscal budget. For the past twelve (12) years, six (6) with Winn Dixie and six (6) with Liberty, Ms. Freeland has focused specifically on retail property management. Ms. Freeland is well respected by her peers, owners, and developers in the Central Florida region and will take the lead role in expanding this component of Liberty Universal Management, Inc.
Paula Duncan - Director of Marketing, Paula performs and/or oversees a variety of tasks associated with administrative and fiscal for Liberty Universal Management, Inc. Paula also coordinates and facilitates meetings, program functions and marketing for all properties and trade shows. Paula is a native of the Central Florida area and earned a BS degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. Paula most recently served as Director of Marketing for Philco Construction where she was active in business development, marketing for the firm and served as an executive assistant. Paula is active in the Central Florida business community and in her free time, works with a number of volunteer organizations such as Children’s Rescue Network, Make-A-Wish, Susan G. Komen Foundation and Children’s Home Society.
